Prometej is undergoing an extensive refit to be completed March 2023. She was built in steel by Romanian yard Galatzi Cant Santiebul and delivered in 1957 as an ocean-going tug with an ice strengthened hull. She had a thorough conversion in 2005 to turn her into a go-anywhere expedition superyacht. the conversion involved: a complete replacement of the superstructure and modification to the external sides of the hull., New main engines and generators and new piping & wiring etc.
She was sold in 2021 and her new owner laid out an ambitious plan to renew and refurbish this superyacht and successfully launch her onto the charter market. Her vast deck space and gracious lines are reminiscent of a luxury cruise ship of a bygone era. She has a flexible 7 cabin layout and offers a gym and jacuzzi.
